  • None of the REAL investors will be prohibited to reconsider his foreign investment.

But all GAMBLERS and SPECULATORS will be "mildly disciplined" by charging 0,05-0,02 %.

All digital systems are well in place and work, SWIFT.

    No additional burocracy needed.

    TOBIN TAX NOW.

    Billions for a better world.

  • Can someone apply that analysis to Zimbabwe? Zim's Black leaders took an economically healthy country and turned into a place where babies are flushed down toilets and people scavenge foe rotten vegetables. Fuck all to do with "exploitation". I'm going to put a tax on self-righteous middle-class tossers.

  • greedy bastard, if there was one global money perhaps we would start caring for each other.

  • The fundamental cause of speculative bubbles are the human emotions of greed and fear. The magnitude can be exacerbated with margin though. Trading volume itself has little relevance. Illiquid markets with high transaction taxes are just as likely to have bubbles (ie. the recent U.S. housing bubble).

All the Tobin tax would do is kill trading volume (as it did in Sweden from 1984-91), which means the common investor will lose more money to slippage to the benefit of large institutions.

  • You know this because of your extensive experience in the financial markets?

Are you aware that the free market is speculation? speculation is what creates the most accurate price.

are you aware that tobin tax would destroy the foreign exchange?

Are you aware that tobin tax also taxes investors who have lost money... perhaps due to a recession?

Do you have any idea the hard work and extreme discipline that goes into trading successfully?
