@compassrose212 It wasn't allowed but Wolsey had an Illegitimate wife and illegitimate children, other clergies played deaf and blind about the private lives of high rank clergymen.

Yes, he was married and had two children...at that time marriage was allowed.

From what I understand, as I have not seen this series, they have Wolsey commit suicide...I take great offense to this, yes as stated previously it is historically incorrect but even more, being a direct descendent of his I find this deplorable.

I had lunch with him during the filming of this in Sept 06, when he came up to visit my husband's family. Lovely, lovely man.
