@guilhermerrrr due the box is 146 or 142 (engine 1, engine 4 and engine 6 or 2). but its just a traditional term used in the fire service today for the location of a fire.

@guilhermerrrr a term carried over from Gamewell Boxes that were used on street corners (some still in use, Hampton NH still uses this system as well as the 911 center), but when someone pulled the alarm it rang to the dispatcher and they would dispatch units to that "Box", often it was misused by kids and there mostly all gone now. They had no way of knowing what the call was so it tied up a lot of resources.
but now we use the term for a fire, like in my city if the call is in engine 1's first
