Macaw Breeders Podcast #3

You have probably never seen this before: the birth of our Blue & Gold Macaw called Baretta recorded on video. After the external pip it took Baretta exactly 48 hours to break its way out of the egg. It is fantastic to see how Baretta turns in the egg and breaks the shell with the egg tooth on her beak. The whole hatching process took about an hour, but for the purpose of this podcast is has been reduced to 1:40 minute or so.
