@confusedmatthew I'm going to have to side with you on this, because I initially had high hopes for this movie (as it was released on my birth year, in 1997), but when I first saw it, I had the same opinion as you do now (but for different reasons; you see, I was born autistic, and because I was sensitive to the drama in this film, that's why I hated it as much as you do).

This was a good movie. If you enjoy it, who gives a fuck? For real. I mean sititng there analyzing a film to death is so dumb. But watever we all have our opinions I suppose. But still, shit if you watch something and you like it, let it be.

There have been many films about titanic, this just brought a new light to it.

Because as we watch a beautiful romance unfold with sensational performances we all know exactly what happens to the ship and the people they love around them, it left such a lump in my throat as the central characters got closer. Gave an insight into the loss people suffered on that ship, so yes it does show the tragic historic facts about the sinking.Fact is on that ship the men stayed behind to die for their lover
