Mr. Bruce Baldwin achieved a new world's record at the 2009 Japan Festival, held in Houston Texas on April 25th and 26th, 2009. This achievement was thoroughly documented at the scene by photo and video while board members and chairmen of the festival authenticated the mat count and end result.

  • @KELLERMANisBACK If that is the case, it must really puzzle you why the Japanese host American festivals, play baseball and eat at McDonalds. You must be baffled that Japanese anime is here in America. Cultures share and celebrate each other. That is so foreign to you?

  • @TheHpsauce247 it's obvious they were cut too, what does it matter if they fell or not? the idea is to cut all of them, not to cut all of them without making them fall

  • @darkleone4, great point. It amazes me how very little people actually know. As American's call Japanese sake 'rice wine,' and they believe that wasabi in most sushi restaurants is actually wasabi. They believe that the Japanese invented tempura. They know so little...and even worse....the discourage the exchange of legit knowledge.

  • @scottdvdr yeah u dont see asians doing american things often

  • Wow. That is a real big sword. Is Daito the same as Nodachi?

  • @TheHpsauce247 watch closer, i thought that too, but they were cut first...soo ya, its just your vision that is shit. :)

  • @djohnahol thank you for that in depth understanding, youve totally discounted this mans ability with your hyper sensitive critique of the tool he uses. Im sure the many people there who came to enjoy the festival and do something besides judge others on their computer will read this and think,"man we were wrong bout what we saw, his sword skills suck". Who gives a crap what hes holding or wearing, he just cut through 25 mats.Ive trained for 17 years in japan and america, never seen that! badass

  • @thegoodgeneral or Rosie O'donell

  • @djohnahol So many ways that I can get into this...I don't have enough characters. It IS ego. The Japanese (& U.S.) consistently trade crafts without honoring the traditions of origin. Assuming something is 'improper' because it is not an adherence to the origins is nothing more than one person telling another "am aware of something specific that you aren't doing." Case - a Japan festival isn't intended to pretend you're in Japan, merely celebrate the culture in a foreign land. I know.
