for jeans to cover the shoes do you go a bit longer or depends on the style, lets say bootcut?

Skinny jeans are all over the map lately—the SKINNY tapered leg, skin tight (Levis Super Slim), are for teenagers and rockers, and NOT for most of us!
However certain styles—Lucky Jean 221, or Dockers D1 fit, have a slimmer fit and a straight leg, and look great on thinner or taller guys. I recommend checking them out—particularly the Dockers D1 fit. Looks great—these are NOT your father's Dockers...!

I actually really like skinny jeans, and I'm a guy. Now, i don't like the "rude fit" skinny jeans, at like Hot Topic or something. Those are just too tight for me. I like something more like the levis you tried on.

I personally like skinny's better than any other type. I, like you, have big, muscular thighs and I have found that you have to get a couple sizes bigger in skinny's. Those end up fitting well.

LOL I own the American rag ones, wearing them now. I actually bought boot cut (527 Levis) jeans today and was feeling a bit old school, so I was looking for advice on whats out of style.....good info

i have to say... from a girls point of view... i actually like the first pair.. they make you look longer given that you are not exactly tall
if you are a guy and find that skinny jeans are too tight... start with stretchy material... because its just gonna take some getting used to... and looking good will take some sacrifices.
if you are smart about it and buy stretchy pairs.. they actually fit nice.. its comfortable and they make your shape look so much nicer
