Davidson County voters go to the polls on January 22 to vote for or against ratifying a controversial English language amendment that proponents call English-first and opponents call English-only. Viewers for and against the amendment will have a chance to better understand its nuances, and call in with their own questions, when moderator John Seigenthaler hosts Perspectives: The English Language Referendum, a half-hour show live from Nashville Public Televisions Studio A Friday night, January 16, at 7:00 p.m. CT on NPT.
Nashville attorney David Briley, a representative for Nashville For All Of Us, a broad coalition opposed to ratifying the amendment, will defend his position. The amendments author, Eric Crafton, Metro councilmember District 22, though initially scheduled to represent those who support it, has since confirmed that he will not appear on the show. Should councilmember Crafton reconsider, he will be welcomed, according to producer Justin Harvey.
Viewers can submit questions in advance by e-mailing question@wnpt.net, or by calling the number on the screen during the live broadcast.
This video, which serves as an introduction to the panel discussion, details the potential impact of ratifying the English language amendment.

The idiocy of segregation is alive and well in Hicksville. I say, pass a law and remove all forms of international, foreign, and otherwise non-White services from this inbred town. That includes not only books from the libraries, cuisine, movies, music, philosophy, etc. I say leave these Nashville-morons to themselves. They still don't get it. Funny, I'm white, and yet I disagree with these racists in trying to discriminate against their own neighbors. When will they grow up and get along?
