OMG this game is amazing, even after all these years.

Great plot, great characters, awesome stages, great music (Lava Reef, Hidden Palace, Final Boss, etc), great power-ups, beautiful visuals even to this day, tight controls, and Simplicity at it's finest. This is why I started playing Video games. A MasterPiece in everyway.

@AphasicBeing I agree with your gaming taste completely. Have you ever played a game called alien soldier?? It might not be on par with the 2 games you mentioned, but its still pretty awesome for its time. Search for alien soldier TAS (Tool assisted speed run) on youtube. Its like seeing fox/falco from starfox on steroids

A masterpiece indeed. This game is tied with Shinobi III Return of the Ninja Master as my two favorites on the Genesis console.
