This is a video of the yearly Bison working that takes place on the Tall Grass Prairie Preserve near Pawhuska, Oklahoma. The Preserve is privately owned and operated by the Nature Conservancy. The bison are rounded up and given their yearly check-up and new calves are fitted with tags and micro chips. Aprrox. 400-500 animals are worked per day and it usually takes about 5-7 days to complete the working. The video is a little shaky---sorry! The wind was blowing 30 miles an hour! We had to overlay music on the sound because all you could hear was the wind. Hope you enjoy the video. Music in the background is by Becky Hobbs and Hank Thompson. ~~sandcreek4~~

  • Thank you--glad you enjoyed it! It is almost time to work the bison again on the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve and we should have some new videos to upload soon. Hopefully this year the wind won't be blowing so hard and we'll be able to leave the sound turned up(that's why we had to put music on this other one.....)

  • Dangerous job, for sure. Give everyone a lot of credit for keeping Bison free once again.

  • Nice music & interesting vid, for city types.
