  • @MrMedicalwannabe You are correct in your explanation of S1 and S2. Actually we are saying the same thing, but I present it this way because it makes more sense to more people. The AV valves close after atrial contraction (which is during ventricular contraction). If my explanation doesn't work for you, then don't use it. But, please don't try to confuse the people who are trying to understand and do find it helpful. ~David Woodruff

  • So basically Mr. Woodruff simplified what 2 INTENSE years of nursing school, multiple instructors, and 2 preceptors with over 50 years of experience couldnt, in about 10 minutes (because I watched his videos on breath sounds too). Thanks man, good stuff. Got NCLEX tomorro, and plan to do my best and fiiiiinally become a nurse...er....Murse because I'm a man. Thanks!

  • @ed4nurses Your explaination helped me so much! Thank you!!

  • @toyandfrank how did the nclex go? i got mine tomorrow!

  • It seems like to explain something is an art and we see a basic example of this art here. When I say basic don`t think I am seeing it as `easy to do`. On the contrary to explain something in a `basic way` is the hardest thing to do. Probably most of us spent lots of time to understand the heart sounds but here we have a perfect explanation. Thank you.

  • THANK YOU!!!! this FINALLY makes sense!

  • amaizing !!

  • more than just educational, the information is practically invaluable! thank you...

  • wonderful

  • I love this video much more than Led Zeppelin Live in Denmark '68. This has been very helpful. you clarified for me that the QRS curve on the EKG corresponds with the sound of the AV valves closing.

  • Great explanation, and I love your heart sound mnemonics much better, especially since they relate to what is happening and make it easier to remember! My professors recommended this video and I am so glad they did. Thank you for sharing!

  • This is fantastic. I work in a picu/combined cardiac care unit and this is gold! Thank you.
