To the people who have watched this video & have enjoyed it thank you for your kind comments.
These are my favourite videos of my dogs just basically being dogs & enjoying a dogs life. After all, surely this is the reason that we have them first & foremost. I think at times we could all do to remember this. It's not just about breeding the so called 'perfect specimen' or winning rosettes. It is looking in to their eyes & seeing their soul. Who they trully are as a living, breathing, beautiful creature. It is their individual personalities & joy of life. If by looking at this video of my angels any of you can see these aspects of them then I have succeeded as I want others to see my dogs the way I do - beautiful beyond comprehension - their true personna.
Competing with our dogs is a bonus. Surely first & foremost is do our dogs enjoy working & competing with us - the answer to this question must be yes. Do dogs enjoy competing that are unfit, unhealthy or unwell? Maybe they do but do they need to be picked on because they haven't done the job the way the handler would prefer. Do the oldies really still enjoy competing? Maybe they do prefer being in the ring to running around leading a dogs life but again should they be pulled apart for not quite getting it right. I know I am mainly speaking to the converted but I still think that some could do with remembering this.
Enjoy your dogs come what may. They really are not with us for long enough. I include myself when I say that at times I think we loose sight of what really matters in life & it sometimes takes terrible things to happen to jolt us back to reality. Loosing a class on scent can be dissapointing but at the end of the day that is all it is. You speak to anyone who has lost a dog & that all pails into insignificance in the final hours.
I hope this hasn't come across as a sermon as that was not my intention it is just me putting down a few of my thoughts publicly.
These are the memories & moments that I will always trully cherish.

  • That was so lovely. Very artistic with the sunlight on the water, and then came the Holly bit. Made me cry my eyes out.

  • Thanx Wendy. That was not my intentions even though it makes me cry. It is so kind of you to say it though as it proves you feel what I feel. x.
