This is the Hallfight cinematic sequence from the PC game "FREESPACE: The Great War". The original file was in Volition Inc's proprietary .mve video file format. I used the older DOS-based MVE2AVI format converter to convert the file to an editable .avi format, then encoded it to a 320x240 .mp4 file for upload to YouTube. The original file was presented in a widescreen format, so I present it here in a letter-boxed format. I tried to do a 4:3 aspect pan-n-scan version, but it ended up being too much of a pain. Hope you enjoy the conversion.

  • Nice Man loved the freespace games on my voodoo 2 sli's good gaming days .... Don't think is has been matched yet... And keen 4 FS3

  • Thanks. The conversion to YouTube doesn't do it much justice (the original conversion looks much better). D:FS and D:FS2 screams on my ATI X1300. I may be posting other cinematics from both in the near future.

  • With lasers, why did they use machineguns? or were the lasers just to big in size to be able to be held by personnel

  • FS1 dont even need voodoo2 sli, i played it on a single voodoo banshee and a 166MHz P1(with win95) very well.
