  • You're very talented, but remember this is funk music.

    Keep it simple.

    You're killing the groove.

Way too many cymbals going on.

  • @Geeljasjes Thanks for the feedback; but after watching Pete Ray Biggin (An awesome session drummer) fill in for Gary Husband on Level 42s 30th anniversary tour, it gave the music a whole different feel. I dont aim to follow trends in music; like Mr Biggin i want to develop it. I love the constructive critism though, it helps a lot; thankyou! Nice hearing from you :)

  • nice playing, only thing I can say is stay on the beat with Hot Water, you are creating a cross rhythm, but does sound good :O)

  • @jonannlou Im glad you enjoyed it! :)

I did realise about the cross rhythm, i believe it gave the drums a more dominant role - thanks for the feedback! :)

  • @DrummerFreakJack no problem mate, I used to drum to these track many years ago too :)

  • @jonannlou They're great fun! :) An awesome band as well, very inspirational! :)

    Rock on!

  • @Geeljasjes very good Gary Husband !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @maturenewdrummer mate, theres not alot you can tell me about Level 42 :O) They've been in my life for as long as I can remember!!

  • @jonannlou the guy who drumed this was Phil Gould ye drummerfreakjack is very good but the beat is backed withy mark king not him on his own the fiils dfj is doing are way out of context with theses songs way too much cymbal work not enough intricate hi hat work . this is funk music not funk/rock .the base lines are funk phil gould played with mark king not in competition against him/.dfj drumming ye ablity cant fault it interpretation of them way off

  • Spotted your fav cymbal ;)

  • Your a good drummer but think you should play rock or something because you are to tempted to use all your cymbals and theres to many for funk :)

  • you have fantastic technique, but remember the key to being a great drummer is to know when to show it off! brilliant work :)

  • @DrummerFreakJack While PRB has a different take on the classic Level 42 drum lines, I've got to say I really loved how he brought a brighter sound from his kit. I hear your cover as a cross between PRB and Gary's styles.

Level 42 has got to be the hardest band to drum for given that both Mark and Mike studied drums before switching to their instruments.

  • Excellent! Wish I could drum, period :)
