Isnt that like paying a 10 percent interest rate? So its like using a credit card. I dont like the 5.00 fee either.

Love the idea of Lay Away, but I don't like the FEE of $5.... did they tax that fee too? Is the fee refundable? This is Geri from Liberty NY

WalMart and it's Chinese made goods have DESTROYED our Manufacturing Jobs, and killed our competitive edge WORLDWIDE!
BOYCOTT WALMART! BOYCOTT WALMART! Boy o boy did the hippies from the 60's & 70's sell-out to buy CRAP made by SLAVES.
Get HEALTHY and STOP BUYING FROM WALMART! Try a Farmer's Market, where u dont even have to pay sales tax. *SIGH* This country is DOOMED!
Enjoy getting trampled during Black Friday.

Also, the christmas price match gaurantee is for things on layaway too-so you can put a popular item on layaway now & if you see it go on sale, either at walmart or another store, you can go have the price adjusted down-rather than waiting to see if it goes on sale & having the store run out of a popular item.

You all got me curious, so I checked out a few other layaway programs out there. . . so far the 3 or so I checked all have a $5 layaway fee. Who knew?

There is a $5 fee-10% on my purchase, but if you had put $300 on layaway it was still just the $5-or about 1.7%. The layaway program was made available to try to help folks out this holiday season-and it is not the right option for everyone. I'd rather just save up & pay cash, or purchase an item and then pay off my credit card at the end of the month. However there are folks out there who do not qualify for any kind of credit & don't have willpower to save. This might work well for them.

I have to say I disagree (obviously) with Odin422's post, however as they expressed their opinion in a relatively polite manner I am sticking to my policy of not removing any respectfully expressed opinion. However, obviously the poster has never read my blog if they think I in any way advocate buying things you don't need--that is the direct antithesis of all I believe.
