My first attempt at uploading a video in YouTube's new 16:9 widescreen format. Keith here performing the last song of his he'd ever see climb the charts, but he didn't live long enough to see it hit #1. His 3rd of 5 straight #1's. This was his last appearance on Nashville Now, from March 1989.

  • Is that Kelly Back playing guitar?

  • @clewi1091 That is Lou Toomey. He replaced Randy Hayes in Keith's band Miami sometime in late '87-early '88. He went on to play for Brooks & Dunn.

  • you must be blind and deaf oh my the state of this upload

  • @possumholler6 Geez, not so harsh! Real KW fans up till now hasn't complained. I posted it until I could locate the videotape this footage is on and I can convert it to digital, and then it would be reposted.

  • How long before his death was this recorded

  • About 6 or 8 weeks. Thanks for all your great comments. It's great to see that Keith is continuing to inspire a new generation of fans.

  • Who is that playing bass? I know that Dave Pomeroy played on the album with this song on it but that guy on the bass (and in the video) sure doesn't look like Dave Pomeroy to me!!

  • hell yeah KW is the man, thats a mean perm mullet hes got goin on. i may grow one

  • Keith owned! - He was a binge drinker. He couldn't drink a beer. He would guzzle an entire bottle of vodka. He wanted to get to the edge in 10 seconds flat. A disease that took away an amazing talent way too soon.

  • RIP God bless you Keith!!!!

  • Keith and Hank Williams was 2 of the greatest singers ever, it's ashame they let alcohol take over their lives. Could you imagine how much they would have accomplished if they could have gotten help with their problems. They would probably be untouchable in thei song witing and singing. Rest easy Keith you have fans forever.

  • you really have to wonder where country music would be today if was still around

  • just signed the petition to put keith in the hall of fame

  • Poor Keith, he looks soo tired here....yet still sounds untouchable, extraordinary....
