This is me talking about how I feel that everyone is responsible for their own actions, i saw something on YouTube about a celebrity who had gastric bypass, and gained the weight back and people were saying that RNY is dumb because it failed this celebrity. This is my take on the whole issue. I am pretty angered by this statement from others who are obviously very limited in their information. So this is my take on it from a post gastric bypass perspective. :)

  • @jillmbooth just didnt follow the rules.

  • @jillmbooth - honey, trust me when I say I was in no means including those like yourself who were never given the opportunity to actually start over, I would be sooo angry if that had happened to me. I am sorry you are going through that. I hope you keep strong through this and hopefully u can lose the weight on ur own since you can get ur surgery redone. That's terrible. I wish you all the best! :) i don't believe Carnie had this same issue though because she did lose a ton of weight she...

  • which complications did you have with the surgery, or you didnt get complications ????

  • @macarari but overall, it was still worth it. :)

  • sigh, poor Carnie Wilson! people use her as an excuse so much to show that WLS is ineffective, or whatever. But you're so right, she failed her RNY, not the other way around. So many people need to take responsibility for their actions--make better choices and be prepared to live with the decisions that they do make!

  • @NewMamaMia I absolutely agree. You know, that's not to say that people CANT fail after gastric bypass, but that's why you are prepared BEFORE having the surgery, you go through hoops to get it for a reason because it's very dangerous for someone to stretch their pouch after gastric bypass.

  • Amen! I could not agree more.

  • Love This Video!!! You look amazing!!!!!! :)

  • I digest broccoli and asparagus just fine after my rny.

  • @Kellawanda I Completely agree! That is the whole reason why it took me so long to actually make the "commitment" to this new life. It takes a complete head change. BTW Thank you for all of your awesome and inspiring videos!

  • I met a woman who has had 3 surgeries....she gained it back each time. I also met another woman who had 2 - and now weighs 300+ pounds again. People dont get that this isnt the cure all....its cliche to say, but its a TOOL through and through. And unfortunately some DRs make people think its the cure all and that the surgery is going to do all the work. Its 80% a mind game....a reduced stomach size just helps us to get on track while we sort out our heads and retrain ourselves.

  • Very well said!

  • My rny failed me. Or possibly my dr failed me. My stoma was mad THREE times the normal stoma size. normal is 10 mm and mine is 30mm. I have in essence, one large stomach...a pouch that leads directly to my intestines. The food simply wont say in. My pouch is still tiny. Insurance only allows ONE lifetime surgery. So I'm stuck with a failed rny. I didn't fail it. I did what I was supposed to. Some people do have mechanical malfunctions.

  • I couldn't have said it better myself. Amen sister...
