  • I love the first fireup of a top fuel the day of a race... all these people stand around it thinking it's not loud, being all macho with no ear plugs... then at 54s in the vid the 1/4 throttle the beast and people in the crowd push and shove and fall all over each other trying to get away from the fury. I religiously go to NE Dragway yearly for the finals. and one of my favorite things to do is stand in the back of the stands overlooking the pit to film the first flame up.... love it. Great vid

  • You can get close to these cars and not choke on nitro.. The Kalittas pull their cars out from under the tent so the fumes get pushed up instead of back. However the noise is still there. I too have seen these HARDCORE -- uhhh -- morons for lack of a better term stand at the ropes, arms folded, no ear protection take these full throttle hits. You WILL do SERIOUS damage to your ears if you try that. Ya know, I think its just stupid if you try it without holding your ears.

  • 0-60 miles in 0,7 seconds.

  • Actually, last I heard it was 0-100 mph in 0.8 seconds!

  • whah? how much horsepower do those thing have we have dragers here but not like that

  • Last I heard, they estimate between 6,000 and 8,000 horsepower. I think they can only estimate because they don't have a machine to test an engine that powerful. Another cool fact (I heard) is that it takes 700 HP just to turn the supercharger - the same as a NASCAR engine

If it's TOO LOUD, then you're TOO OLD!!!

J/K Attended Mile High Nationals this summer. Wanted to experience a few full throttle passes w/o ear protection. Had a few beers, FORGOT the ear protection, spent the next couple of hours saying "HUH?" and "WHAT?"

Oh well, just like money, you can't take your hearing to the grave with ya!

  • fact it will take you longer to read this that it will take that car to go over 320mph!

  • They are seating the clutch!

  • Awsome now thats what you call power
