@CalvinistChurch I'm sorry, but if you have to name call (ie callsomeone chump) then what is the value of your distinction. it does you know good.
all you need to do to prove me right is call me names as well, so if you are really irritated that i speak thus you had better make no reply.
I was going to comment otherwise, for i also hold Lordship salvation is a heresy. but what is the point?

Is it reasonable to doubt your own salvation if you do not bear any fruits of the spirit? I think the answer is yes! This is why the evidence of our works gives us assurance. Yes we may be saved but lack assurance but what saved person would want to remain uncertain?

@JacobGboy AMEN!

My idea of Lordship salvation is this: Christ saved me from my sin, therefore He is now to be LORD of my life. We don't attain salvation by works. We're saved by repenting(change of heart and mind about our sin) and placing our faith in Christ to save us from our sin. Acts 2:36 "Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ." Jesus is not only our Savior, but HE is also our LORD once we've believed on Him.

This is a very sad misrepresentation of MacArthur's teaching. I personally find it shameful that a person who claims Christ would resort to this kind of dishonesty. John MacArthur has NEVER said that works are necessary for salvation. But that works should be the result of our becoming a new creation in Christ.

Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?
Mark 10:17-31
Do you teach that we should rely entirely on the righteousness of Christ imputed to us by faith alone as the ground for God being 100 percent for us after which necessary sanctification comes? This is Lordship salvation.

@jcr4runner,
Lordship Salvation teaches that the Gospel is a call to obedience.
It teaches that we are justified by law-keeping.
Go read John MacArthur's "An Introduction To Lordship Salvation."
Get a clue.

"Lordship Salvation teaches that the Gospel is a call to obedience"
2 Thess 1:8 "In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:"
I'm pretty sure the Gospel is a call to obedience, true faith is synonymous with good works(obedience) following.
James 1:21-25 is also slightly in contradiction to your words claiming that those who continue in the law of liberty(love) are not deceived, but those who don't-are.

@droptozro,
You need to take a class in logic.
You are equivocating on the term 'Gospel.'
Since you are uneducated in Biblical Christianity,
know that the term 'Gospel' has more than one use in Scripture.
2 Thess. 1:8 uses the term in its wide sense, while 1 Cor. 15:1-4 uses the term in its narrow saving sense, the sense we are discussing. Take your irrational drivel back to Rome. Learn Law / Gospel Distinction, chump.
