  • does it work best with a cast iron skillet?

  • @koruki if the induction is not on then nothing happens either. Plus the inductions have auto switch off when no magnetic object is nearby for a given period of time, the operator will need to manual turn it on again.

  • You have to turn the cooktop ON before it will work. Just like a regular stove. Each "burner", called a HOB, has it's own on/off control and power setting. Most induction ranges simply turn off the hob when the pan is removed. Induction cooktops are SAFER to use than gas or resistance coil electric ranges. On iduction cooktops the range surface does NOT remain hot after the pan has been removed.
