@brick68245 I'm looking at the new Tacx Genius now, wireless operation; 1500W motor with the blacktrak steering frame. Price is just over a grand with the multiplayer options. I'll tell you I don't understand the laptop use in the ads. Seriously? You get on a bike and try to view what you're doing on a 15" screen? When I get one I'm going to plug it into a projector and get an 80" to 100"+ screen :-)
The new software v3 can plan a route and then ride it via google earth.
I saw someone advertising it for a lot less keep an eye on ebay, the steering wheel is hardly used as it is only used for the VR videos the RLV content doesnt use it.
I would recommend the Fortius as the brake system is a lot better.
The first thing you will have to do is try and get a dedicated training wheel/tyre I feel its money well spent.
Am trying to do the Ventoux presently . 1:4 incline feels real to me
I've got a price from cyclesports.co.uk of just over £890, that's a Tacx iMagic trainer with the steering frame. However the discs for the tracks etc are extra. It comes with a basic set i think but if you want to be adventurous it costs. Some of the discs include Tour de France stages whilst others are live video that moves as you cycle. The trainer can mimic a 1 in 4 incline with the motor brake...I want one! but is it worth the money?
