It was horrible we never got to do anything all we did was static drill all night. They even left us at the airport because they didnt book flights to go gliding.

@JimHobbinator303 Im AIR, and personally its not that bad, I know a lot of army cadets to know that if you like GUNS join Army, if you like planes join AIR if you are a loser join SEA.

I am soon looking foward to join my local RAF squadren, due to the fact i would love to be a fighter pilot and im guessing that if i join the cadets it'll boost my chances (abit). Anyway, im very active, run around 30 miles a week and go to the gym, i love motocross and i cant wait for the activities. However, theres one problem.. ive been watching videos and all i keep finding is everyones wearing blue shirts and trousers with polished shoes, how much of that do you actually have to do...?

@MarcusFITco Its not all "blues", but quite a bit is. You have to maintain ALL of your uniform YOURSELF to the highest standard. If you want to go far in the ATC you will need to be dedicated to it. One of the main ways to show dedication is through your uniform. It also shows self discipline, which a wannabe RAF fast jet pilot must have. Its sometimes a pain and it does take up hours of your time, however its worth it.
If you don't like the discipline in cadets then you wont like the RAF.
