Peter Tork with Micky Dolenz - acoustic version of Tear The Top Right Off My Head from Monkees TV show. This is my first attempt at posting a video and though I looked everywhere first to see if this song was posted, it never showed up until I did this but I'm going to try it anyway to see how bad it comes out with the old equipment that I'm using.

  • F*CK Don Kirschner for calling Peter a mediocre musician at best...

  • This clip should have put to rest the rumor that the Monkees (Peter Tork, at least) couldn't play their instruments. He's really playing that, they just had a mic set up in the room--no overdubbing or anything.

  • @dinkychickenshorts Peter was a solo artist, Davy was a Broadway singer, Mike was a solo artist who could play the guitar and Micky played in a band long before The Monkees came to be. The truth is that they weren't given the chance to play their own music until they revolted which resulted in Headquarters, one of their best albums. Whoever says that The Monkees can't play their own music and instruments needs to get their facts straight.

  • @dreamstreetrocks The Monkees Hitting The High Seas (sorry for the late responce)

  • @CherokeeBPM Omg I didnt even know that

  • @CherokeeBPM I meant to say open his jaw. They had to cut part of his jaw. I did not mean to confuse you what I wrote that the surgeons took his jaw out from his mouth and put it back together after the surgery. That is not what I am trying to say.

  • @CherokeeBPM Sorry for the misunderstood, I thought that in order to get the cancer out they had to open up his jaw to get the cancer out. I don't know what kind of cancer it was. How can it be the throat it he had his jaw opened up? It has to be somewhere from the tongue to the throat area. I don't know if his smoking, his drugs, and drinking in the past that got him that cancer. I am sorry, it was the middle of the night and I didn't mean to write "removed" the jaw.

  • @CherokeeBPM I think I meant to say they opened his jaw in order to cut into his throat. Sorry, I misunderstood a little bit when watch a YouTube clip from Inside Edition.

  • @TheMonkeesRock It stinks that they did not air this part. I got the episode on tape/digital computer using a device where you can record TV shows and save them on the computer. The company is Pinnacle, it is a device where you can record shows from your computer. It is like watching TV from your computer and a VCR to record stuff. It cost around $79.00+. I also took notes for each episode, in this episode, there was a lot of stuff edited out.

  • @CherokeeBPM I am sorry for Peter Tork, two years ago, he had to get his jaw removed in order to get the cancer out.

  • @CherokeeBPM Not Peter! Don Kirschner!
