The comments on this thread crack me up. Obviously some of the comments are from people that have never seen ATV sand drag racing. Some of you don't have a fucking clue. If you think an extended front end is for looks, why don't you tell the tell the top fuel dragsters that ha ha ha! There has been a lot of r&d behind this sport, these bikes are running low 3.s in 100 yards @ over 100 mph and will soon be in the 2's! It's a rush for sure.

@bensonboy989 it looks better.

@RDubya146 I don't know much about them, but I would assume that the extended front end provides a longer wheelbase, which would allow it to go in a straight line much better. Keeping the rear wheels as close as possible under the drivers ass would make for maximum weight on the rear tires, helping them to dig in for the most traction.
-
@RDubya146 it helps a little. longer the front end the weight of the tires make more leverage and the longer the swingarm you get less traction and loose horse power over the length of the chain
-
@AfterShock491 makes sense
-
@RDubya146 to make them look cool of course
-
@RDubya146 extending your swing arm makes your wheel spin more, if you extend your front you will still have the weight on the back wheels so u have more traction. i think thats why dragsters are all extended up front.

@patlikestrucks95 For your information, I made that comment over a year ago and if you look at the rest of the comments, almost every one has been a response to mine. I was simply asking a question, there's no need for you to be a complete asswipe about it.

this is a very old video of my friends bike, it is a 7mm stock cylinder. if i remember right that pass was not on the spray, it made right around 110hp to the wheels on motor.
The chassis is +7 out back and +24 out front.
the rider is the builder of the bike and motor as well.
I have more video's of some 4 strokes that he's built more recently in my gallery.

@RDubya146 For your information... there is only a 3 foot wheelie bar on the back! that keeps it upright and with the stretched swing arm it can still stand up. this guy knows what hes doing so why dont you keep you opinions to your self
what's the point of the extended front end when there's no weight in the front? Wouldn't an extended swingarm do a much better job of keeping it upright?
