If you have this unit connected to your tv via the hdmi, try using the component output instead. Sometimes HDMI between brands don't play well with each other. Hope this helps.

Crutchfield does not make these, Channel Master does. We provide tech support for free for any product purchased from us, it's sort of a perk when you shop with Crutchfield. You may check to see if Denny Antenna offers the same service.
Our tech support has experience troubleshooting this, and all products we sell with previous customers, so chances are we can help.

Man, I'm sorry you are having so much trouble with the Channel Master. I can tell you that we've sold plenty, and the problems you are describing are not normal. I personally use one and I've never had an issue.
You might try calling us, we do offer tech support for, 90 days for $29.99 (free when you buy from us) and I'm sure our tech support guys can help. If our techs can do nothing for you, we'll even refund the $29.99.

One question: Does the digital converter box work with the Channel Master 7000-Pal?

@bekhelms50 The Channel Master CM-7000PAL has two built-in digital TV tuners so external converter boxes (for over-the-air reception) are not required. Simply connect your antenna coax cable directly to the DVR and you’ll be good to go. Feel free to call for additional assistance: 800.315.0030--Crutchfield

Does this unit need a wi-fi connection to get the programming guide or does it get it over the air way like the broadcasts themselves?

The programming information comes over the air, like the broadcasts themselves. No WiFi connection needed or possible with this model.
