For free pond building assistance, emergency pond questions, design, etc... please e-mail me at,

AquaticReflections@gmx.com

This video has high view's, and my others (Part's 2 & 3) don't, please check them out as they are, in my opinion, much better than this one.

I started this pond in spring of 2009, Never knew it would take me four months, and it's still not done! But sit back and relax as you can see this slide show of how i build my koi pond Eco- System for under $800.00. Not everything is finished but it will be next spring when i will shoot my next video of my pond construction, were i will un-assemble the waterfall and build it more natural and much more careful! The $800.00 price includes all of what i used for construction, Except waterfall filter i just added a pipe over the rock and it was fine!

Update: March 24, 2011

Pond is great, spring clean out soon, subscribe for future video's. All koi are alive and doing well... many koi fry and will be seen in a future video. Plants are fine, pump is holding up. Updates soon.

  • Nice man

  • How much is the algaecide that you have to add to the water?

  • No bottom drain and you have gravel on the bottom?

I bet that is fun to clean once a year.

  • exelente..mchas gracias por subir estos videos...sirven para aprender y ahorrar dinero..!! saludos desde argentina!

  • I Have said sorry i should not have called u a stoopid american and that was very rude of me ~SORRY ~ its in one of the posts.yes i totally agree with you ppl should be nice to their pets and look after them but not everyone is as responsible no matter wat sort of pet they have ` Technically yes they are all carp but technically they are not made equally if i threw my goldfish in the river a bird would come and pick it up quick but those pony sized KOI it would be impossible

  • goldfish and shumbunkins dont grow to the size of a pony and they arent declared a noxious pest . Ok i seem to have missed a few of ur posts to me so sorry if i have repeated or appear not to have read ur posts because when ur awake im asleep and vice versa

  • @Arteolike lol lol lol koi and goldfish and shumbinkins are all carp they are just hybridised differently like trees u can have gaint trees in the forest u can have trees in pots that will be stifled and only grow as long as the container and then there is bonsai that are trained etc to be small AND TINY AND THEN THERE ARE DWARF VARITIES OOOPSY SORRY CAPS ok exactly the point carp = koi = goldfish= shumbunkins the difference is that gold fish dont lay thousands of eggs ~

  • @sooouuuuper PLUS! You just said "koi is a type of carp so are goldfish so are shumbkins" So basically your telling me Carp are Carp? So then the Goldfish & Shubunkins that you want to keep are technically Carp too, and technically they are the same as koi, which technically are the same invasive fish in your local waters? So technically there is no difference between Koi, Goldfish, & Shubunkins. You better get an umbrella, cause It's raining cold hard facts.

  • @sooouuuuper Plus here in America, where all the "stoopid americans" are (I still did not receive an apology), 95% Of Pet Stores Label their bags to NOT release fish into local water systems.

If you think (like a responsible pet owner) Keeping koi in your little garden pond is somehow going to affect a lake or river that could be hundreds of miles away, you need to do some research, and more than that, common sense.

  • @sooouuuuper "ur wrong koi is a type of carp" Didn't I just say that? I said, and I quote "... with me? Koi, is a TYPE of carp," I posted that in my previous comment. Before replying to one of my comments please make sure you read it carefully and understand what I'm trying to say. I have to give you credit for having a strong opinion about something, but I'm going to conclude with this. Koi are pets, if you don't take care of them, don't ever even think of getting them.
