Get your eLocity A7 here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003Z6QH5S?ie=UTF8&tag=thedigdig-20&... Happy New year! Hope everyone had a great Holiday! Wanted to start off 2011 with an update on the eLocity A7 Android Tablet. Since its launch it has undergone some serious changes. The manufacturer released an update on December 24 to resolve issues with WiFi, pinch to zoom and ironically the ability to play Angry Birds!!! These updates were a welcomed addition but sadly Stream TV networks did announce that the display on this tab is not multi-touch so it seems this will remain a single touch input device (not good for games). More importantly XDA developers forum has begun to develop for this device and a rom (courtesy of Dexter) that includes the Android Marketplace is already available! Ad-Hoc tethering is also possible with a patch however it will break the WiFi connection when resuming from sleep mode. In other words you will need an app like WifiConnector from the marketplace to re-establish your connection without jumping into wireless settings. Basically, if you can get past the average battery life (4-5 hours), lack of true multi-touch and slightly larger form factor of this 7 inch tab, I believe it is the most powerful Android tab to date. Also, since Honeycomb (Official Android Tablet OS) will only support Dual Core chips like the Tegra 2, the Elocity may out live far more expensive Android offerings like the Samsung Galaxy tab! On the whole the Elocity A7 is a great tab at its price and because it is a truly open device, it may have a bright future despite all the darlings CES 2011 will have to offer.

Remember all mods are done at your own risk and can damage the device but if you follow Dexter's instructions and do your homework, successful installation will be a breeze:

Dexter's Eloctiy Mod: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=890042

Dexter's Ad-Hoc patch: follow the same installation instructions found above for the Android Market mod for this patch as well. The patch, like the Market mod, must be renamed Update.zip and installed from a micro sdcard. These updates, must be performed from the device system recovery menu) http://dext3r.komodin.org/folio100/adhoc-fix.zip
