I always loved the Christmas episodes of GUIDING LIGHT. They were always so special, especially when HB Lewis and Henry Chamberlain were still around.

Speaking of Maureen, I remember that during this Christmas season, Maureen was shown cooking in the Bauer kitchen while Bing Crosby sang "White Christmas" in the background. At the time, I marvelled at how smoothly Maureen had inherited the late Bert Bauer's role as GL's beloved matriarch. Little did we know the producer would kill off Maureen a couple of weeks later! It was a terrible mistake, and it sent the show into a slow but steady decline.

Sadly, Maureen would die two weeks later (January 8, 1993).

I would love to see the Roger and Holly clips from Christmas 1993. Could someone point me in the right direction?

Good thing you put the Christmas episode in here. I saw a few of these, and they actually feature the cast singing a Christmas carol during the credits (such as We Wish You A Merry Christmas)

Thanx a lot! :)
Why can't Guiding Light be as good now as it was then?

I wish Lorraine Borderick and Stephen Demorest would come back and write for GUIDING LIGHT.
It was also so good to see Ed and Maureen in this clip dancing!
