  • helihobbit, Thanks for watching. Paint is very thin in glazing. It's not done much these days. You may be more interested in Alla Prima or Impasto work. Any hints on lighting video for better color? thanks, tina

  • Tina, excellent portrait work.

  • Very nice work!

  • So many of the things you do I too did. I thought I was the only one who used a finger & used paper towels which ended up as a dirty mess in my hand.

It's been a while since I last painted in oils as I'm doing an animation course, but you make me want to do more.

Thank you so much for posting this videos of your painting of John. The comments as you explain and the good, slow and steady camera work, with the occasional close up for details - make for the best painting videos I've seen yet.

  • He looks like the mad magazine guy. Give him the broad man chin. He looks terrible with a pig nose. Nice Hair tho.

  • Brilliant! Learned more from this video than from any of my tutors at college! Thank you Tina.

  • wow.same!

  • Hi Tina, I just wanted to thank you for taking so much time to share your technique. You paint well enough in your own right to not have someone say you don't paint as well as the masters. Why would we all want to paint exactly the same? All artists should be trying to imbue their artwork with something of themselves & as such you have done so.There is nothing wrong painting from a photo & many artists paint copies of other paintings. Renoir did.John's personality shows thru.Thks for sharing.Dee
