As the first 3-4 ingredients in all products are very important I will add information on the first 3 ingredients in the Mahogany Naturals product line.

Ayurvedic Moisture Rich Shampoo: http://www.etsy.com/listing/89656849/mahogany-naturals-ayurvedic-moisture?ref...
Purified Water, Capryl Glucoside, Peg 120, Cocomide Dea, Glycol Distearate, Aloe Vera, Guar, Vegetable glycerin, Amla, Shikakai, Neem, Brahmi, Argan Oil, Vitamin E, Emulsifyer, Citric Acid, Essential Oils

Capryl Glucoside,
A sugar-based (glucose) surfactant and solubilizer derived from vegetables. It "solubilizes" oils into water and other ingredients, which typically are not capable of mixing. Caprylyl capryl glucoside is very mild. It also boosts foaming lending to a luxurious lather. Caprylyl capryl glucoside is an ECOCERT Green List ingredient.

Peg 120
A surfactant and emulsifier, PEG 120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate is the polyethylene glycol ether of the diester of natural Methylglucose and Oleic Acid. It is used in beauty products and cosmetics as a surfactant and emulsifier. It is used as a thickener in hair and skin care products. It is considered a non-irritant, and also has a specific property that allows it to reduce the irritation value of whole formulas (Source). The high molecular weight of this specific PEG makes it impenetratable to healthy skin; it is FDA and CIR approved for use, but not on broken skin.

Cocomide Dea
Cocamide DEA, or cocamide diethanolamine, is a diethanolamide made by reacting the mixture of fatty acids from coconut oils with diethanolamine. It is a viscous liquid and is used as a foaming agent in bath products like shampoos and hand soaps, and in cosmetics as an emulsifying agent. See cocamide for the discussion of the lengths of carbon chains in the molecules in the mixture. The chemical formula is CH3(CH2)nC(=O)N(CH2CH2OH)2, where n can vary depending on the source of fatty acids.
Safety: Cocamide DEA is an allergen that may cause contact dermatitis in individuals who are susceptible to skin allergies. Cocamide DEA showed a high irritation potential.

Ayurvedic Deep Penetrating Conditioner: http://www.etsy.com/listing/89656947/mahogany-naturals-ayurvedic-deep?ref=v1_...

Purified Water, Aloe Vera, Organic Argan Oil, Mango Oil, Guar, Amla, Shikakai, Neem, Brahmi, Extra virgin olive oil, Guar, Emulsifyer, Essential Oils

Aloe Vera
Transparent gel from the pulp of the meaty leaves of Aloe vera has been used topically for thousands of years to treat wounds, skin infections, burns, and numerous other dermatologic conditions. Dried latex from the inner lining of the leaf has traditionally been used as an oral laxative.

There is strong scientific evidence in support of the laxative properties of aloe latex, based on the well-established cathartic properties of anthroquinone glycosides (found in aloe latex). However, aloe's therapeutic value compared with other approaches to constipation remains unclear.

There is promising preliminary support from laboratory, animal, and human studies that topical aloe gel has immunomodulatory properties that may improve wound healing and skin inflammation.

Organic Argan Oil
100% Pure Organic Argan Oil rich with vitamin E, phenols, carotenes, squalene, and essential fatty acids to deeply moisturize, nourish and soften. Famous for its healing and restorative properties, Argan Oil can be used on clean skin, hair, cuticles or anywhere else that needs moisture and softening.

Mango Oil
Mango oil is an oil fraction obtained during the processing of mango butter. Mango oil is a seed oil extracted from the stone of the fruit of the Mangifera indica. The oil is semi-solid at room temperatures, but melts on contact with skin, making it appealing for baby creams, suncare balms, hair products, and other moisturizing products. The oil is a soft yellow color with a melting point of 23-27°C.

Luscious Hair Milk:

Purified Water, Aloe Vera, Sweet Almond Oil, Mango Oil, Vitamins E, Extra Virgin olive oil, Emulsifyer, Guar, Essential oils

Aloe Vera
(See Ayurvedic Penetrating Conditioner)

Sweet Almond Oil
The oil is good for application to the skin as an emollient, and has been traditionally used by massage therapists to lubricate the skin during a massage session.[citation needed] It is a mild, lightweight oil that can be used as a substitute for olive oil.
This Almond oil is used to remove black spots and black marks on the skin.

Mango Oil
(See Ayurvedic Penetrating Conditioner)

You be the judge. After all it's YOUR hair. :-)

  • "Barebeauty1"... thank you... I used the whole bottle of hair milk on hair! I'm very generous with product application in my hair. It's really thick :-/. I did use some on my daughters hair too when I cornrowed her hair sooo... I like that it's light yet gets the job done. Great for summertime use on type 4's and all year around for type 2's and 3's.

    Thank you "TheBlackCoCo" and "Aden-Ma"...lol

  • This is my first "OFFICIAL" product review. I used the products after my color application and what I noticed is that the Ayurvedic shampoo and conditioner DID NOT strip my color immediately. So I'm loving that of course.

"Keonsmommy"... I'm glad you mentioned that. Honestly, I didn't take note of the detangling aspect because I was still amazed at my color not being stripped...lol. But I don't think I had that much of a problem with detangling. And yes, the end results are great!

  • hotep sister, still waiting on my video lol:)

  • How did the conditioner feel on your hair? How was the detangling? I also tried these products out and the only problem (if you can call it a problem) is how it felt on my hair. . .and how it didn't seem to aid my detangling as most conditioners do. But I did LOVE the end results of using them. I had the same experience. .super moisturized light feeling hair.

  • love ur colour.....wow, how many uses did u get out of da hair milk

  • Great review and I love love love your hair colour!!

  • We will talk again soon... great review!!!!!
