Mind Wealthy, Snack Healthy PSA

This Public Service Announcement (PSA) was conceived and written by 7th and 8th grade students at Durham School of the Arts, North Carolina, and co-produced by Cirque Productions LLC and the students.

The PSA was developed as part of a project funded by the National Institutes of Health-Small Business Technology Transfer Program (STTR) grant, with a state match from the NC Board of Science and Technology. Cirque Productions partnered with the UNC Chapel Hill Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention on the PSA project and, with the support of the classroom teacher and principal, led the students through the process of writing a PSA. Students were then asked to choose a nutrition or fitness behavior relevant to them, research it, and write a PSA addressing that behavior.

The result is a series of four PSAs, conceived, written, co-produced, and co-directed by the students. These PSAs are meant to be widely distributed, so send the link to your friends and colleagues!
