@rockinredneck57 No. John & Marvin Brown took only a chainsaw and some hunting rifles. Dave "Stringbean" Akeman and his wife, Estelle, discovered the two cousins as they were returning home from Akeman's Saturday night appearance at the Grand Ole Opry. Akeman was shot dead. Estelle was killed after pleading for her life.

The only cash in the cabin was not found until many years later, stuffed behind the fireplace chimney. Marvin Brown died in prison. John Brown is up for parole in July, 2011.

I miss my pals String and Speedy. String taught me how to play the old time frailing style banjo, and Speedy taught me how to play guitar and be a showman. When you look at this video you're looking at the last of the really talented show people. No fancy lighting, grungy clothes or exploding stages to make their act go over. Just great raw talent. These people are what entertainment is all about. They could go to a country that didn't speak English and entertain them.
