can you put special ritms on this in this program?

@wolf34drevon I'd skip over EZD if you haven't already bought it, just go for SD 2.0 and start adding ezx and sdx kits from there. In the long run, trust me, you'll begin to appreciate the ability to get surgical when you need to. And the ability to mix kits is indispensable because I can't think of one kit Toontrack makes that I don't want to change at least one or two things about in order to get the perfect custom kits. That's where the real fun is!

@coronet67 The only thing that holds back the Vintage Rock EZX is its terrible room sound; the only way to save it is EQ and compression to help get it tighter sounding. And, keep it fairly dry and use a better reverb over it. I imagine you could use SD2.0 and just replace the room/overhead mics with one that has a more attractive sound like Allaire or something.

@coronet67 Thanks a lot Coronet for your attention ! (out of subject : I 've discovered demos of Mixosaurus drum vsti and the other Drum vstis seem to be bland in comparison)

Have you tried the other extensions and if yes, which would benecessary ? And would you consider that Superior Drummer 2 would be worth, or Ez offers all the elementary tools ?
Have you tried Steven Slate drums ?

@coronet67 I performed a thorough cleaning. I installed a new Graphics card in March of 2012 and that was the last time I cleaned it good. I've moved a couple of times since then and there was a lot of dust that was caked on the vents and fans. I run Speccy and have a small fan now blowing a little extra air on the vents and I noticed that although Cakewalk uses 100% CPU when engaged, the CPU is running a tad cooler. Right around 52°C. That''s reasonable for 100% CPU is it not?

@coronet67 Could be time for a good internal cleaning. Maybe my fan vent is plugged. It's been awhile since I've cleaned thoroughly. Thanks.
Very good sound Coronet, but it deals with the EZD VINTAGE ROCK extension, and maybe this extension allows a more "straight forward" sound than the original EZ drummer sound set (??) I find the sound is clear and more percussive, and well sit in the mix (in a more pop/acoustic context); (I've just tried AD and found the sound rather metallic and distorted); most of people speak in well about the EZ Nashville and the Classic extensions, but your video is (for my ears) more convincing;

@wolf34drevon There's quite a bit of mixing you can do within each EZX (expansion pack- Nashville, Classic etc). The classic rock really nails that 60's 70's feel, but lacks modern punch. It is very good though. I've been using the Nashville for most stuff lately. It's probably more vesatile. It just depends on your music I guess.

Looks like I need to get writing again. I have a BOSS DR-5 that I used to think was the cat's tits but now it's not much more than an expensive strove tuner. EZ Drummer seems so simple in comparison. Anyone have experience with the DR-5 as opposed to the EZ Drummer interface? Talk to me!

@AceOfHeart2012 Dude, I used a DR5 for years and still have it, although I havent used it since I started recording on the computer. I'm not even sure if EZ Drummer is quicker or easier, but all the visual data and editing options make it better for me. The bottom line for me is the sound quality. EZDrummer sounds like a real drummer (Or pretty damn close). This demo sounds like crap too- it sounds better than my demo.

@coronet67 I have another question for you or anyone else who can answer. I set up the DR-5 and was recording using my Cakewalk Home Studio 2004. I noticed that after I'd finished, my computer shut down all by itself. NO BSOD. Nothing. When I started it back up I got an information screen saying something about overclocking. Research led me to suspect that perhaps my power supply can't handle the increased CPU load when HS is running. Am I close? Anyone?

@AceOfHeart2012 Computers are tricky and recording takes a lot of processing power.
Actually that sounds like a thermal shutdown. That would mean your CPU got too hot and shut down so it wouldnt fry.
