Simon who? Yep this is the guy! Glenn McGrath was injured for 2 tests and Mr Cook 'steamrolled' into the test team (sorry Simon!), and bowled with great accuracy on this lively cracked up Perth pitch and took 7 wickets in his first test. At least he played 2 more tests than Anthony Stuart, another bowler whose career was cut short by injury, but Mr Stuart got THAT hat trick though!

  • this bloke broke his leg falling off a pitch roller

  • @damo24now Pretty funny, sort of eh? There was a article in the papers here a bunch of years ago when he retired from FC cricket, talked about the roller incident.

  • @robelinda2 have you got video of anthony stuarts hat trick?

  • @oobee007 Already on youtube man!

  • I feel sorry for him and lot of other similar guys who played in "Mcgrath&Warne" era.

  • @chaubeyman He didnt play more because of McWarne- he got ran over by a steamroller and never got his fitness back to test levels. Still played club cricket until 2004.

  • his action, when seen in slow-mo, is similar to jamie anderson's

  • @wisden550 the crack in the pitch on on off and just short of a good length = assistance

  • The first wicket is a lovely take from Healy! And Steve Waugh's first catch isn't bad. :)

There was a lot of assistance for Cook in the pitch though...

  • @2:40

That's what i'm talking about, off-stump completely uprooted!

  • he aimed for that crack and when he hit it. he got a wicket

  • Matthew Nicholson would be another one along similar lines to Cook and Stuart .. made somewhat of an impact in a very brief appearance.

  • I watched this guy bowl in a Mercantile Mutual Cup game ages ago. I don't think he played many games.
