Blarney Pilgrim (beginner uilleann pipes)

I'm practicing uilleann pipes on New Year's Eve. 2010 was the year I started. I just finished my first 6 weeks of lessons and am waiting for my own practice set to arrive.

Please do not try to learn from this. I'm doing a lot of things wrong but having fun trying to do things right!

What are you using for a 'popping strap'? (under the chanter)

I am also learning, can finally play two octaves. Working on 'Killaloe' and Carraig Dhon

@Brianoneil1 I have a little piece of yoga mat. You can use a piece of leather. I have yet to make something with a strap. :)

@baldfatgit1 I could not do it either six weeks ago. It has been a great challenge to make something out of it.

Thanks for your reply. I am a Highland piper moving on, having to get used to the various pressures required. Bellows not a problem. What an awesome instrument

@MrHandyronny Yes, they are difficult. I'm using borrowed parts. The bag belongs to my teacher, the bellows belongs to the San Francisco Piper's club and the chanter belongs to a friend. I'm waiting to complete a transaction to buy my own practice set.
