This ocarina septet - composed by David W Solomons, inspired by the poem "Noel" by Théophile Gautier - was first performed (in midi format) at a presentation by Music for a While and the VADA Theatre Group in 2000 - at the Dance House Theatre, Manchester.
The music is now available (score and parts) at
http://www.archive.org/details/NoelDiGautierForOcarinaSeptet

The footage from the original dance performance has been processed, and made somewhat surreal but curiously pleasing, using serif Movie Plus X3. The sound has been created using Sonar 5 and an ocarina soundfont... while awaiting a live performance of the composition.

  • (PS I did say "midi performance" in the description....)

  • Yes, I am still awaiting a live performance of the septet. If you would like to perform it that would be great :-)
