Ohio Voting Machines, PublicPress Not to See Count in Athens

Concerned citizens attempt to witness the count in Athens County, Ohio after the 2008 Primary polls close. The Board of Elections refuses to allow them access, but cannot show a law or statute to validate their claims.

After 10 minutes of harsh questions, and realizing they are being videotaped, the Board of Elections calls the police.

The Board claims that the public, the press, nor any watchdog groups are allowed to view the count, nor the "Chain of Custody" of the ballots.

We the People cannot witness our votes being counted.

This is the second time the video was posted, as corrections were made in the subtitles

Some "simple facts" for disinfo agent, 0157mike:

1. A hand count is difficult to achieve as evidenced in the video. Meanwhile, paper ballots are transported and stored by private companies in many counties. In other counties, officials have lost entire ballot boxes.

2. Voting machines are owned by private companies whose CEO's make large contributions to candidates.

3. The machines have modems that can be controlled remotely. This was discovered in Congressional hearings.

Good job on the attempt, but i think you were too meek. You march in their with confeidence and INFORM them, not ask them,. that you ARE an observer. Do not ask or grovel. they are ther SERVANTS. They are not the boss. I did a similar thing this past primary and i walked in video running, and told them i was there to observe. I was let in, no problem. i was the only one there in the whole county, other than reporters. As far as these clowns who refused you, you must sue them. do it tomorrow.
