I went there a week after it happened.

Still the memorials were on the ground, the flowers,the pictures, the buildings were bordered up, every one walking around including college students all looked very sad and depressed. I can't believe such a horrible thing happened. All the students and teachers who died may you all rest in peace. On 4/16/08 in 1 of my classes this is all we talked about in memory of the lives we lost.

It has now been a year and 3 days but I will never forget it.

I responded all the way from New Jersey with my fire department. Blacksburg is one of our sister departments so we decided to go down to VA with lights and sirens. After the rescue effort I was told the one person I knew at Virginia Tech was dead, I still didnt stop working. I kept helping till the last person was out of the building. Then I couldnt even move, I just collapsed on the ground. I cant believe it actaully happened TWICE in this country. Great Tribute!!!!
