What's the use. Buttons will fail, thing was made cheap to cut costs and sell at lower price. I love the Palm OS but the thing sucks. Just toss it. Take one of those tools and smash the screen and dump away.

sorry you feel this way...but the only way to preserve it is to buy multiple units and do regular backups. if one goes, take the other and back up your content onto it.
