@pbbeachbum09 I saw HB this day(1/17/88) and said F that! I went to Cottons for a 1/2 hour paddle out & 18+ sets, biggest SoCal session I've had. It was the biggest day.

Sorry January 17, 1988 was the biggest waves to ever hit HB. ONly a handful of us surfing out there. Taking off from a set from north side of the pier 1/2 mile out through the mid and shore break would end you up near 17th or GW. Took 4 waves that day in about 8 hours because the walk back was so long, and the paddle out was insane. Saw guys pinned under the pier the waves were so big.

gay ass waves.

dude this is pretty minor. you shoulda checked out the reef breaks on that day. that might have at least made for a video worth watching.

crazy swell, I wish I was there to see it. The sounds of the waves was soothing too...

@RobzaarPS3 Go troll somewhere else asshole
actually these waves are caused by a west/north/west swell from alaska and NOT from the earthquake in Chile. The combination of full moon high tide and powerful surge from the swell caused the tide to be extraordinarily high.
