J.R. Towles singles to left during the first inning of an October 12 Arizona Fall League game between the Mesa Solar Sox and the Surprise Rafters. Towles was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 20th round (604th overall) of the 2004 First-Year Player Draft out of North Central Texas College. The catcher hit .324/.425/.551 with 11 home runs and 49 RBI with the Double-A Corpus Christi Hooks of the Texas League in 2007.
