We had students in our SEED Camp build BristleBots for three days this summer. On the last day we had a Battle Royale and each student entered their robot. It was tons of fun!SEED Camp is an educational summer camp based in Minneapolis, MN.If you are in the Minneapolis area and would like to volunteer, contact Maurie Clipperton at 612-872-2773 or maurie.clipperton@ppl-inc.org See Homework n Hoops pictures at http://www.flickr.com/photos/homeworknhoops

  • Depends on how big the motor is and how you're setting it up, but I would assume that if you made the base larger - perhaps using half a Popsicle stick and placed one toothbrush head on one end and another on the other end and then placing the other half of the Popsicle stick perpendicular and forward (making it kinda look like a football goalpost) - obviously there are other ways to widen the base thats just the one that popped into my head.

  • what did they used for the platform of the bot? is it the tooth brush head or something else?

  • The toothbrush head is always part of the platform because thats what gives it propulsion by on many of them Popsicle sticks, toothpicks, and other tools are used for balance or to gain leverage or an advantage on the other bots. My bot had two Popsicle sticks in front balanced on two toothbrush heads in back which created a plane that gave it good balance and could be used to push other bots out of the way. Plenty of ways to be creative with these bots!

  • ok thank you for replying to me im going to try to make the popsicle stick one but the problem is i only have big motors do you know how to make some with big motors? cause i ones tryed a bristle bot with 2 tooth brush heads but it still fell down cause it was to heavy :(

  • What kind of motor?

  • lol make people lose

  • hahahahah this reminds me of good days. a long time ago, we had this bristlebot fighting club (really fun) where u had to knock the other bristlebot over or trap it in a corner to win. my design was sort of like a biplane (two motors, hella fast) that trapped bots in the corner hella fast. good times
