The presence of something magnificent and grand can be felt in the middle of a 440 hectare sugar plantation in Talisay City, Negros Occidental. Here lies the remnants of the Don Mariano Mansion, aptly called the Ruins. This house was built by Don Mariano Lacson in honor of his late wife, Maria Braga. Though it was destroyed partially during the WWII, the mansion was restored to the shades of its former glory in 2008. Duly-noted as one of the most fascinating ruins in the world, this Italian-inspired house welcomes visitors to the sights of sprawling gardens, inspiring architecture, outstanding cuisine, and of course, the transcendence of love.
