So I opened my front door, and this little feller is just sitting there after being attacked by cats. So I have took it in and it stays in the cat box, I get it out 4 times a day to stretch his legs etc, I don't want to make him too stressed.
So I have filmed this video showing me cleaning its puncture wounds up. It got fly strike today (2/7/10) So I had to sit there and pick all of the eggs away from its wound, and I had to re-clean and make it safe again! He is happily eating and drinking loads, will put another video of him soon.
He is trying to fly off already, well with one wing, maybe sometime next week When he is ready I will get someone to film me releasing him to other flocks around the area.
And by the way, he's blind in his left eye and missing a toe on his left foot, very old injures!

  • @MrJayb262 if you are in england they arn't native birds, so its better to keep him as a pet or rehome him :P

  • @milliewillyds :D cool, i only wanna keep him untill he can fly it's only a babey, so once he's better im going t let him go where i found him, i just did'nt wanna leave him at the vet coz god know's what might happen to him, they have lot's of animal's and when they have to many to look after they put them down if they cant find home's for them :(

  • @MrJayb262 oh yes they will let you keep him don't worry about that

  • @milliewillyds Ok thatnks ill take it to the vet asap, Its a lorikeet by the way :) do you reckon they will let me keep him?

  • @MrJayb262 yh it can, best to take it to a vet as they will have the right stuff to wash it off, if you try and wash it off it might have a reaction to the simplest of stuff :P

  • @milliewillyds Ok thanks, can grease harm a bird, it looks like their's grease on it's tongue, im not sure if it's grease or if it's just how it's tongue look's like

  • @MrJayb262 best to take it to a vet then they can advice the best stuff to get it off without harming the bird
