If you've seen my flicker account, FlyForFun you'll notice I've been taking a lot of sunrise and sunset pictures lately. I figured I'd try a video of the rapid sunrise we get when flying toward the sun. www.flickr.com/photos/flyforfun/

  • Nice video. I live in Manchester. When are you next flying to Manchester?

  • @DeltaconnectPilot I loved Manchester. Unfortunately, we're not flying there anymore, I'm sorry to say.

  • hey, what music track is that?

  • Name and link to the music is in the description. Thanks!

  • It's absolutely beautiful! And I'll have to desagree with Atheus: the turbine sound makes it EVEN MORE enjoyable for people who like to fly. I really enjoy your videos (and your blog) keep'em coming!

By the way, which camera do you use? And how do you attach it to the window/control panel? Is it one of those mini tripods with suction vents? or is it like a big clip? or a mini lens? I'm a TV commercial director and also enjoy flying so I 'm really curious. Thanxs in advance for the answer.

  • Thanks, Entro.

I think this one was just a Canon SD800 that I braced against the glareshield. I also have a Flip Mino HD and a Canon 5D Mark II. I'm still looking for the best way to mount a camera. I've tried a Gorrilla pod SLR, but it needs to be even more solid for turbulence.

  • truly, you dont get to see things like this from the ground. and i have never flown an airplane, but i have been in one (a jet plane) and there is something about flying that once you look at the ground from way up there, you appreciate the world for what it is, rather it be city lights or wide open spaces. thats why im gonna be a pilot!

  • There is a certain intangible beauty about flying. Whenever Im up over the Atlantic at dawn it always makes me appreciate the world we live in so much more. It makes me feel a little bit lucky to be there in that moment.

  • @fly4fun

Beautiful video! I've seen a few sunrises on my transatlantic trip when I was lucky enough to score a few minutes in the cockpit! if you need a camera to mount look up Go Pro HD, it's an HD camera with wide angle lens that shoots full 1080P HD and you can mount it on windows and such with a suction cup!

    Oliver!

  • hello fly4fun you videos are great men you the best congratulations

  • I was speaking with some my firend-captain B767, and he told me that the first light, what you can see when the sun is rising is green light.

I was interested in that information, It is so romantic, isnt it ? :) You fly morning and you can see green light at the moment before yellow light

  • Awesome, thanks for posting
