You can use a file or a bench grinder to sharpen Ergonica Weed Twister tines, as shown in this video clip. The bench grinder is faster and more fun with all the sparks and noise, if you like noisy machines (like I do)! This may be necessary after a year or two of intensive use in pulling out weeds, digging holes, precise tilling, etc. When shipped from Ergonica, the Weed Twister tines are sharp enough to penetrate aluminum cans, plastic containers and cardboard, so be careful when handling them. The Ryobi 6-inch benchtop grinder works well on the coiled tips of the Weed Twister. A 6-inch fine wire wheel is shown cleaning the burrs and scorched tips. Highest quality oil tempered spring steel is used to make the sharpened tines of the Weed Twister, which tines will probably last a lifetime, unless you attempt to remove your PVC pipes with this tool. Actually, you could use the Weed Twister to locate PVC pipes and clear away topsoil prior to removal. Other uses for the Weed Twister have been documented at http://www.weedtwister.com/advanced.htm ... Watch in high quality full screen to see details.
I've never seen anybody use the side, that's interesting.

@1jeans Please be careful when using the side of the grinding wheel. You don't want to weaken the structure by cutting grooves in the side, for example. But, as you can see, it works fairly well, depending on what you need to do. The end result here is a sharpened point that can penetrate an aluminum can, and many other objects, as well (including tough dirt in search of roots).
