You know something else that makes this game awesome?
The actual opening. To my knowledge, it's the only one with an "actual" prologue, and the music is actually perfect.

Can someone tell me the name of the title screen song?

Wouldn't have ever played it if not for the GBA re-release. I hope in the future all the FF's are re-released to allow everyone to play these games without having to hunt it down along with an old system to play. I say re-released, not re-made, keep them exactly the same, keep them as we all loved them.

Well FF7 has exactly the same gameplay as FF6 but with 3D models and CGs. And actualy FF7 doesn't look better because of that 3D that looks... bad.

FFVI advance was kind of a step down from the PS Rerelease don't you think?
The original release was on SNES or SuperFamicon for all you technical sticklers.
Then it was rereleased on PSX with CG's and barely any additions.
Now its ported back to what is best described as a portable SNES in terms of power. I think they should have held out for a DS release with all 3D toons and new voice overs. I still reccomend this game simply because finding any of the previous versions is hardtodo

Personal opion is that ff3/6 and 7 are about equal. Their both my favorites. I agree that 7 has gained a large fan base and thus its over-done quite a bit. But as for the orginal game itself I think it was pretty bad ass. Six was also the same in the same respect. Both of their stories held something new that drew away from the normal "crystal" storyline and both brought orginality to the table.

None of you fanboys would ever admit it if one or the other was better, because you don't really give a damn - well you do, but the only person who would 'care' to the kinds of extremes that someone like AltF3 does is an elitist - who doesn't give a damn about quality - just feeling better than others. That's the tragedy of these arguments; they have no soul. It's essentially politics. Enjoy flaming each other and acting like children.

It would be - without question - a serious miscalculation in judgement to insist that FF7 is only loved because it was on PS1. A game with fan base reaching so far and wide with an equal measure of intensity is not something to hold a flame to. It's power is so strong to deny it's quality is an insult to intelligence. I've never played FF6 and it very well may be the best, I don't know if I'll feel that way. But spreading hatred toward a game made by the same people is absurd. Like what you want

While, (obviously) you have a point. Games don't become famous for no reason. Not to mention the abstract nature of insisting something is 'best' since there is no definitive structure in use to judge such things. Like insisting that FFVII is 'just' famous because of it's (original) graphical prowess; But then would you criticize film critics for mentioning all the beautiful colors in the film Hero because Psycho is in black and white? Not saying Hero is better - just pointing something out.
FFVII is just the most famous. That doesn't mean it's the "best"

There is no "best" Final Fantasy. They are all unique in their own way. It's all a matter of what YOU like in a game. That's what's great about the Final Fantasy series.
