@MinaVanner I think the point Sting was making is these two great powers possess the means to obliterate the entire planet many times over and war between these two nations would devastate the planet. that's why hes not singing about the french nuclear arsenal because war wasn't a real possibility see but the Warsaw pact and NATO were starring each other down for over 40 years. i think its safe to say for the time, we dodged a bullet.

@MinaVanner I'm sure they do, but they love Allah more, which is why they strap suicide bombs to young children. The Soviets were mainly pragmatics, not religious fanatics who value the afterlife in Paradise more then life on Earth. And believe me, I am no cynic, mainly rational.
