"Since taking office more than a year ago, I've wanted to invite all of you to such a meeting," he told us. "The city council wants to share with you and hear what you have to say about Cotacachi. We want to build a relationship of trust with you in this town."

I hope we gringos don't mess things up with our preconceived western notions of what is right or wrong. I know there is a serious impact on the native people with expats moving there and moving into homes that most native people can't afford. Remember, this is not an American town. It is an Ecuadorian town!
