And out of the rear instead of rearing he would raise his leg in a very good Jambette so I put a cue on that to. But as for teaching the rear you can use targeting (Clicker Training) holding the target over his head OR BUILD A WALL WITH STEPS AND HOLD THE TARGET OVER THE HEAD THAT WAY HE LEARNS TO COME UP. The goal is to play and reward your horse for playing Bucking etc and when he does it encourage it and put it to cue! I hope this helps!

Well I didn't actually "teach" the rear. Pal is very playfull and when I run him off or get him to play he gets into the spirit of it and will run, buck, kick and rear. But anyway I put him in a round pen and got him running and turning and when he looked at me I would jump in the air, throw my hands up and toss the lead rope at him which made him rear! And from there I just kept doing that and incouraging him then I just put a cue to it.
